"Safe-auto" insurance commercials - STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have saw two different commercials for the first time tonight for this insurance company. I had never even heard of it before.

The first one shows a Dodge Neon driving on an icy road and snow pouring. They have NO lights on - which is a "no-no". When it shows the car from the outside- no wipers on, but when it shows the passengers on the inside- the wipers are charging away- then the outside again - no wipers- then the inside again- swiping away. DUMB!

Then, I saw another one of their commericals. It shows a guy in a Dodge Spirit or Plymouth Acclaim stuck in snow. It shows a tire spinning and the car rocking. It shows the guy getting out, digging around in the trunk to find something to place under the tire for traction. It shows him pushing the hubcap under the rear tire, but this is a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE car! Do they think everyone is that dumb?

I guess most people would not even notice though.... ??

Yes they do.

And, in about 99 cases out of 100, they are correct.

Want an even better example:

There was a recent radio commercial about selling mattresses. They advertise how they provide the same mattress as everybody else, but what was special about their company was the fact that they setup the new mattress and they take the old mattress away.

But, these geniuses determine that the average moron listening to the radio program won't understand what "take the old mattress away" means.

So, they actually go through the effort to explain it........right on the radio.

To wit:

"What that means is that we take your old mattress, put in the truck, and you will never have to see it again".

Thanks for that.........I never would have known...........................

I've said it before and here it's proven, yet again:

The average person is moron.

How about the commercials that promise "we will beat any price or we will give it to you free". Think about that one for a second.

I have made a promise to my self that any company that insults my intelligence to that degree, I will not buy from them.

Give it to me free my ass.

what are they defining as "it"?

I still laugh at the people in the sliding car video who jumped from their cars before a 5mph colision, and the ones who just locked up the brakes... Lemme find that quick...

Yes, that is silly.

Why were they exiting the cars? And what was the deal with that person hanging out of the passenger side of the last car?

Has anyone here carefully analyzed the latest Allstate commercial where they say they will reduce your deductible by $100 for every non-accident year you drive?

What a load of crap. They are going to allow your deductible to drop $100 a year, without increasing your premium. Of course, you can't get any benefit out of their "generosity" until you have to use the deductible on a claim (and, of course, there goes your future free reduced deductibles because you just had a claim.

I wonder how many people are falling for that line......

I love the warning "Pastry filling may be hot when heated" on Pop-Tarts.

There is a book of stupid warning labels out there.

On my windshield shade (the aluminum one from PepBoys) it says among other things: "Never drive your vehicle with a sunshade in your windshield."

There's an excellent Canadian comedian named Derek Edwards...he did a little bit about this kind of stuff. Best joke was about the "This Is Not a Step" sticker he saw on the wing of an airplane. Mentioned something about how we are doomed as a species...
