"Simpsons" fans, movie coming!

I saw the trailer today while watching The Simpsons. The movie is coming out July 27, 2007 (haha, that'll be the 300SD's 26th birthday, maybe I'll drive it to the theater for it's birthday, ). It's good news, and bad news at the same time. While I'm glad to see my all time favorite TV show coming to the big screen, I suspect the series will wrap up production shortly before or after it comes out. Well, any "Simpsons" fans on board here looking forward to it?

Why do you think so? Have you heard any rumors to that effect? The great thing about cartoons is that the characters never get old or demand more money - it can go on for years.

That is sad to hear...seems like the only thing that is running on television nowadays are those reality TV shows...

For what it's worth they are contracted for two more seasons right now.

(I'm not a super-nerd, I just recently happened to read an article)

I did hear on the news about a year or two ago that the producers and directors were beginning to acknowledge the fact that The Simpsons would have to end sometime soon, and that they're beginning to wind it down. I've heard rumors that the series will end shortly after the movie, I would hope not, though some episodes have gotten quite lackluster lately.

I am looking forward to the movie. I hope it's worthy to complete the series as I too agree that recent years have become more difficult for them to write since they've done pretty much everything they can do with the characters.

I remember Sundays episode getting a few laughs from me. Social satire never gets old.
