You disappoint me bone. Would you have gotten it if I'd said "...shot in the face by a Dick"?

Oh I know....since it was made clear he was a fan of "Speckling" rather than diving.

Well whether this story should have even been reported is another debate. Certainly maybe online on say FOX or CNN's website, but it certainly is far far far from front page news.

But if their is a leak of sensitive military info then those who are responsible need to be found, tried for treason, and shot. We leaked enough info to China in the 90's this crap is getting old. Shoot a few people that are responsible and all of a sudden no more security problems.

Memory disks, hard drives, sensitive and perhaps secret data being pilferd by cleaning people at US bases in a hostile country don't quite compare to stolen TV's at domestic military bases. What I found unbelievable is the upsupervised access to that type of hardware. Maybe if it was your ass on the line over there you'd be more concerned.

personally I can't understand why they are letting local nationals be anywhere near equipment holding classified info...never saw that when I was working on base...and I know what the correct procedures are for disposal are and someone over there isn't doing their job, several people in fact..

Maybe if you missed your family while you were away more than your dog, you would have more insight as to how people like me think.

Glad you got the point that to question one's concern for fellow humans while admitting to missing an animal more than his family is hypocritical at best and sociopathic at worst.

I thought a year or two ago there were some lap tops that were missing and they had sensitive military data on them. IIRC they were lost here in the US. Hell, I thought I remembered reading that there are several pounds of nuclear material that are unaccounted for as well. Not like this country takes that stuff seriously.

If I have time I'll see if I can find so9me info on it unless someone here beats me to it.

There are thousands of cases, and I don't seek to minimize theft and am all for punishment. However, custodians stealing flash drives that military personell are too stupid to use for anything but temporary purposes is a fly on an elephant's ass of the situation we are in in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere in the world.

And for everyone *****ing about not allowing Afghani's to mop the floors? Guess who the alternative is? Yep, Brown & Root, ect.....How do you control the locals? By shutting them out or by giving some of them jobs?

Well there is the Federal GOV and then there is the Military...I know the Militarys procedures well, and no you aren't going to find out what they are from me.

If THAT base takes things so lightly to let this happen on a regular basis then people are not performing their duty. And should be courtmarshalled over it.

Get off the dog point, the family is self sufficent to tend to their own needs and activities when I'm away and I don't worry about them as much. The pup on the other hand relies on my companionship and attention to maintain her daily routines and sense of well being. The dog is very much a part of my family and I don't consider her as just an "animal", and yes I do miss her companionship when I'm gone. So if you think that's "hypocritical at best and sociopathic" as it applies to this thread your one confused camper.
