1-800-for Mercedes Story...
It is a nice, and true, conversation I jast had with the customer service from MB USA:
I have been looking for a while on ebay and all the online "book stores" to get my original books for my 92 300d 2.5 diesel and also one of my friend's rare S500 coupe...never found a complete set or resonable priced. I called this morning the above number, just curious to see what kind of answer I will get from the corporate office...because the dealers allways had to order/print/ship from Europe, cannot get a price...and to my surprise, the lady on the phone(I mentioned the S500 first) asked me if its too much 5$...for shipping ,ground?,I said no,its not,how much for the literature? 0.25$ for the radio book,1.25$ for the maintenance book,5$ owners manual,4$ case...can you belive this?,shipping combined for the 92 and 95 including the 2 cases ,everything...now,I never liked to talk to a corporate rep for any reason, this time it was worth it....sticker prices at NO CHARGE(with proof of ownership),how about that. |

We hear so many bad things about MB corporate these days - It's nice to hear a good story. Thanks for sharing it.

Well...when it comes to things like that they are incredibly friendly and helpful and really try to satisfy you...it's more when it comes down to a $1k part that failed that they ignore the problem...but I can really appreciate a company that throws so much original information at you...considering I see some manufacturers that want to make a killing on manuals and wouldn't even be capable of giving you a printout of the original sticker...
