Rice's unforgivable 'tactical error'

Editor:

Arrogance has been the trademark of the Bush administration from the very beginning. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has topped them all with her latest inconsiderate outburst when she said the administration's policy in the Iraq war was correct, but we have made thousands of tactical errors. Rice would not recognize a "tactical error'' if it hit her in the face.

Rice's comment was just not true, the strategy she referred to was fatally flawed and unworkable from the start. She has insulted every soldier and Marine engaged in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Their tactics have not only been sound, they have been carried out in spite of faulty strategy. The audacity of a member of the administration to claim that its plan was sound, but the fighters on the ground screwed it up, "thousands of times,'' defiles and insults the sacrifices of nearly 2,400 dead and more that 160,000 wounded. It insults the men and women of our military establishment. No amount of spin can reverse that lie. At the very least, she should make a public apology to all the warriors who are fighting President Bush's war. It is Rice who has made the unforgivable error in tactics.

Finally, when one of the neocon hawks can say he held a gut-shot, dying soldier in his arms as he gasped his last cry of "mama!,'' before he breathes his last, maybe then he can speak of "tactics.''

I read an article in the NY Times Sunday where some soldiers in Iraq complained bitterly about the 'tactical errors' statement.

The article was about the debate in the military over the recent statements of the retired generals opposed to Rumsfeld.

Bot, that article made me think you were more correct in the Gen. Newbold thread than I was giving you credit for!

And why not, she's one of the people who are representing America's direction, attitude, and future. I'd really like some more clarification on what "thousands of tactical errors" she's refering about.

The way I see it the big tacticle error was occupying a Muslem Country and not realizing what the consequences were going to be. George the 1st knew what would happen, why didn't he educate the 2nd. If and when we ever get out of the mess were in, that newly elected goverment won't last a year without be overthrown, assasinated or being reverted back to the "good old days" of Saddam. Not a chance in the world to succeed, especially with all the outside Arab influence.

Ain't that the truth. Just another example of the repression of opposing views and denial about the lack of accomplishments by the current regime to take responsibility for it's inapptitude.

Can't wait for the day it cost me $120 bucks to fill the tank. Are the gas companies doing anything to increase refining capacity, or are they happy just stuffing their pockets with our money?
