Do you like the current way OD is set up??

I may regret posting this thread, and it will be DELETED as soon as it gets even a little out of hand. So keep that in mind.

Here is a queston: Do you like the current amount of political/religious threads on the forum?

How many are too many?

Let's keep this thread to very constructive suggestions and criticism.

I am trying to figure out a balance that will keep as many people happy as possible.

I think balance is easily achieved if people just don't drink and post.

It's fine as it is, better than it has been in a couple of years.

The place got out of hand before the shut-down because there really were no Mods. After it re-started, we had one mod who put some rules in place because he didn't have adequate time to participate. With you and Zeus donating your time and doing a fine job of it, no additional rules are needed. Just keep doing your thing and let it flow...

Works for me. Frequently the stickies would sit for days with no one posting to them. A couple of mine were promoted to stickies right about when I figured they were played out. Didn't want to complain, though..

It's working fine at the moment, but that may have little to do with the format and a lot to do with the current political situation. The problems with the current administration are so obvious, that the critics don't have to speak up anymore and the defenders have to concede most of the critics points. However, there's no clear way out in the immediate future so we all wallow in a malaise of hopelessness, unwilling to even battle each other.

It is fine. Why do you want to change something?

Why can't you answer a simple question without inserting your personal politics into your answer? You wrote 6 words to answer the question a 73 words to make a political statement.

This is flame baiting. If you post another answer like this to a totally unrelated question, I will personally ban you.

I must like OD, seeing as how I always look at it when I get on the site. Some members make it a little too personal, I think, but I also think banning should be a last resort. Personally I've never enjoyed seeing someone banned. Maybe some warnings via private messages would be good when they're deemed to be in order? I don't know, maybe that already happens.

Wow, I have thoughts too, but I guess I'll keep them to myself.

Allow me to beg forgiveness on Kerry's behalf - I'm certain he meant no harm. While I'm at it, I'll apologize on my own behalf too, as the reason I copied and pasted his post was because I liked what he had to say. I resolve to give my best in an effort to rise above interjecting commentary where it might belong. Not that he can't speak for himself, but I suspect Kerry would do the same.
