Mexico Legalizes It

Vicente Fox apparently signed a bill yesterday that decriminalized the possession and use of Marijuana, Cocaine, Heroin and various other drugs over strong protest from the US that it would lead to an increase in drug use here.

Sorry for the paraphrasing, but I saw the article briefly in the WSJ and had to leave it from behind.

Well, that should fix the immigration problem

Mexico just became the number one spring break vacation spot in the world. It'll be like Copenhagen with sun.

Oh great, Spring breakers get stoned, get munchies in local fruit stands and return from Cozumel with Moctezuma's Revenge.

"May I have an aisle seat please, Miss?"

I can agree with decriminalization of pot, the rest is crazy. I think he did it because the US goverment was opposed to it. Alot of money in the party tourist trade. Has anyone been to Amsterdam lately? The place is packed with Americans and Euro's who enjoy the freedom of having some fun without the worry of getting busted.

I heard they did it so they could more easily focus on the big dealers 'stead of just busting the small fry.

But yeah, that could boost tourism a bit.

Don't you just love the idea of a US Senator or President, with a cigarette or a glass of bourbon in hand, on the phone pressuring Sr. Fox about this one?

Seems to me they should be jawboning him instead about dumping Mexican problems by sendin' up north.

What, what did you say? Can't *hear* you. It's those ...er, "people" outside with their leafblowers again
