I had a friend in HS that would put on his band uniform and hit the intersections if he needed a little money for the weekend. Never said it was going for the school band, just walk up to cars and they'd drop money in his hat. He said he could pick up 30-50 bucks in a couple hours.

That cracks me up!!!
There is even one from a woman in TX that has a bachelors and masters degree and she is trying to get people to donate so that she can pay to get her doctorate.

What a friggin' joke!

..and, judging by her spelling of Doctoret, getting the third degree will be the least of her troubles.

Queen for a day

That reminds me of an old TV show back in the early sixties called "Queen For A Day." Whoever told the best sob story would win cash and prizes.

Some of the stuff is just too silly for words, not to mention the offences against spelling and grammar, small wonder many claim to be reduced to beggary.

And these are the products of our public school system?woe betide our future.

Only in America. The people who give money to such virtual sob-stories -- no chance to corroborate anything -- sure must have a lot of time on their hands.

No thanks....

Scam artists have zero ethics. Why indultge them. Better to not contribute to some people who may/may not be legit. If you feel you must give to charity there are so many other known/accountable ways to give back...

Don't be as foolish as most seem....Botor
