That's funny stuff Mike.

Too bad that the LP will never make any headway into our political life (and least not during my lifetime).

Still, funny stuff!

Hey, it's the party of principle

I'm sure our resident "libertarians" can get behind these planks in the LP platform; they're all about PRINCIPLES:

"The principle of non-intervention should guide relationships between governments. The United States government should return to the historic libertarian tradition of avoiding entangling alliances, abstaining totally from foreign quarrels and imperialist adventures, and recognizing the right to unrestricted trade, travel, and immigration."

"We call for the withdrawal of all American military personnel stationed abroad, including the countries of NATO Europe, Japan, the Philippines, Central America and South Korea. There is no current or foreseeable risk of any conventional military attack on the American people, particularly from long distances. We call for the withdrawal of the U.S. from commitments to engage in war on behalf of other governments and for abandonment of doctrines supporting military intervention such as the Monroe Doctrine." [EDIT: oops, there goes the case for the ongoing fiascos in Afghanistan and Iraq]

We could use some of that service around here. The Shell pest strips seem to have lost their zazz.

Thanks for the link.

It's a sad commentary when most people who view this video have a certain kinship with it. Why is it that the general population continues to accept these "politicians" who have only one goal in mind.........to further their own political and financial fortunes?

I'll tell you why.

The average person is a moron.

It's a tough one. The main problem with democracy. Unfortunately, most monarchies are not enlightened or broad-minded.

Don't be so sure...

More and more people are getting fed up with the current state of affairs.

More people than ever before are starting to distance themselves from BOTH of the two big parties!

Certainly it may take a while, but I think we are witnesses to the beginning stages of some major political shifts.

Yeah, yeah, Z. We all know that you insist upon a strict toeing of the party line at all costs. You don't have to remind us (AGAIN).

I agree with the principles... under normal circumstances...

Recent events are FAR from being normal circumstances.

Regardless, I'm not going there again with you... You know where I stand, I know where you stand, nothing has changed, we've gone over it at least a dozen times, and I'm sure no one really wants to read another 3 pages of you and I having another tug-of-war over it. I certainly do not.

Normal...what's changed?

I wasn't aware of any circumstances that justified an imperialist global project, but you and the other resident "libertarian" are the experts in such justifications, so I'll leave that clever bit of intellectual two-step to you. Sticking with yer principles is just so boring and pedestrian anyway.
