Making a statement on your own car?

We went to Temecula this weekend to check out some of the wineries. This car passed by and I had my photographer with me so she got a picture. I wanted to see what you all thought of its commentary on possible current immigration issues.

I figured it was going to be some very disgruntled guy driving it but it turned out to be some short...presumably Mexican lady who could barely see over the steering wheel.

And they wonder when most opinion polls say to deport the whole lot of them.

I was born in Cuba, my wife was born in Mexico. We are Americans. Our children are Americans. No one in my family would ever drive a car expressing those sentiments.

Dimwitted, losers like the driver of the Honda (probably an illegal alien w/o a valid driver's license and no car insurance) are the best argument in favor of letting the Minutemen patrol the Mexican border.

SUPPORT THE USA --DEPORT ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS!!!

BTW: Loosely translated the driver of the car is saying: "Up with Mexico -- You *******s (referring to the American people)"

That was our kneejerk reaction to that. We thought for a second that maybe it was some joke about a HS sports team making fun of another team but I did a double take at it. We thought that was highly incendiary. Why in the heck would anyone be so hypocritical and so publicly? It's sad that they can justify themselves in saying FU to the US and still go out a buy a pen to write that on their car and then so smugly drive around and think it will change opinions. It sure didn't change mine.

Just another observation has anyone seen a car fly a foreign and US flag together on their car? I see cars with 2 or even 4 armenian or mexican flags on the windows but i have never ever seen an American flag accompanying it let alone below it.

I have an Italian flag on all of my cars, and display no U.S. flag.

America is a great country, BUT we have our problems. ALL countries have their problems. I am a first generation American, and have been living an excellent life as one. But I wouldnt necessarily say I couldnt be living a comparable life elsewhere. With the events that have unfolded in the past 6 years, and even previous to 2000, I have come to my own personal opinion that
this country has taken quite a few steps backwards, and maybe couple of steps forward, maybe. I also have observed that many people I come in contact with that tout the U.S. flag have been rather "big headed" in their opinion that the U.S. is superior to other nations and cultures. NOT ALL, but many. In my eyes there truly is no perfect form of government, no perfect manner of policy, or governmental conduct. There are positive and negative aspects to ALL nations and cultures, and the many forms of government that exist on this planet. The fact that I live here seems justified, esp. because I have dual citizenship. I see no need to fly a U.S. flag. I choose to be here.

I do not display my non U.S. flag as an act or display of my people, government, or cultures superiority to that of the U.S. -I display it as an act of APPRECIATION for my heritage in a country where much of my family still lives, and as a method of showing that I too share a certain heritage with other people of similar nationality lineage.

However, the U.S. HAS been a good place for many people, and certainly for people whom have legally immigrated here. Its a shame that there can be such disrespect shown for a country that has so much to offer. But on the other hand it is a shame that there can be so much disrespect for other nations that are just as important historically, culturally, and politically outside of the U.S.

Its a matter of perspective, the grass is never greener on the other side. Just different.

On a few occasions I have seen cars with a fairly small sticker consisting of an Irish flag crossed with Old Glory. It's not exactly the same, but when I lived in the south, it was fairly common to see U.S. and Confederate flags on the same vehicle.
