Don't blame the Katrina victims...
Editorial from the L.A. Times.
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/editorials/la-ed-fema17jun17,0,4807430.story?coll=la-news-comment-editorials Does the L.A. Times' editorial make any sense? Or is it just more liberal cuddling from a notoriously liberal paper? |
i am sure that an easy 16% of everyone here would have done the same.

not surprising.
the number is probably in terms of money not in terms of end users, so the number of abusers may be a lot lower than it suggests. as noted above you trade quick response for good accountability. tom w |

The problem is that money solves a lot or so it is thought. Got a problem? Dump money on it. Kids are doing poorly in school? Dump more money. People are homeless? Dump more money. That will solve the problem. Indian casinos are raking in money. What do they do? Distribute it. WTF? Why not take the money and build schools, send the kids to school with scholarships, etc, etc.

I don't live in, arouund, or even near the area but after the gov't has taken it so hard from those theves, I feel like a victim and could use a little aid myself! hehehe (don't know why that is funny!)
