Talking Subject: FW: AC in your car. (HUMOR)

Hot off the e-mail, smile at your own risk.

Subject: FW: AC in your car

When the man at the auto repair shop told me that it would cost $1400 to fix my car's air conditioning, I just laughed at him and said, "I can fix it myself for a whole lot less than that!"

MY MOMMA DIDN'T RAISE NO FOOL !!!!!!!

A friend of mine once reasoned thus with a can of 134.

He thought his system weak as he paced across the floor.

Every time he exited and closed the driver's door.

The inner ambient temperature was 100 degrees and more.

Curiosity and sweat were what impelled him to the store.

Where he purchased said container of refridgerant 134.

But he hooked it to the high side and thought he found the core.

For he blew himself to kingdom come and was troubled thus no more.

Dude, I kid you not - there are electric vehicles hobbyists out there who converted a used vehicle to electric, and did EXACTLY WHAT YOU PICTURED during the summer to have A/C!!!

I'm totally serious - I saw some of these vehicles first-hand.

Hey that guy makes things work! Generator + A/C unit. He mounted a HUGE brake light on the trunk too in order to make up for the smashed out original....

I have not had A/C in my SD since late 2003....since I only "need" it about 20 days of the year, it is pointless to fix, I ripped out the A/C compressor when I pulled my engine last year....less weight and more room! Our 300E still has perfectly working A/C....we'll just enjoy that while it lasts....it was a Nevada car, so they kept that system in real good shape.

No AC, massive oil leak, and a dying top?

Your free car is going to be about as expensive as my free car was. I'm 10k+ in the 500SL now, and currently have a locked up compressor and front suspension issues to solve now that the weather is improving.

My replacement '87 300D doesn't have, well, "effective" A/C - none of the vacuum pods hold vacuum and some of the vent flappers inside the dash are actually missing. Think I'd rather have to deal with the expense of replacing a compressor than have to tear apart that frigging dash on this one too - it was enough of a PITA on the first one.

I had a simple solution though - I left the '87 parked in NC, and drove the other diesel, my '05 Jeep, down to Texas.

No A/C in the summer in SA just doesn't cut it.

lol, the post date on that was 2007... wayyyy before the W124 and the W126...

Thankfully, the AC in the W124 work wonders. Have not tested out the AC in the W126 yet... O_O

What do you need A/C for in a convertible?

read the date on that post. That was when I had the w123. Why bother with AC in the 'vert. If I don't feel like putting the top down I have 4 windows that go down fine. I'm on the fence about tinting the windows on it.
