Another Fine Friday
Well folks we made it to another "Fine Friday"- what do you have planned for the weekend? I'm going to try a clean the crap out of the little drain plug behind the hood hinge thus getting rid of the water leak which resembles a shower stall for midgets inside Maxine the Wonder Benz. And Google "Ancient Roman Plumbing."

Watching as the most expensive tire I've ever purchased is installed on Henrietta the Wundertraktor. Might do a little work on the 'ol strawbale hut too.

Do I dare ask the price of said tire? I trust you'll be supervising? Did you ever get the wild pig thing straightened out? |

$261 for the tire (a 14.9 x 28 tractor drive tire) + $75 road service charge + hourly rate + $16 for water ballast. Dad's living out at the farm now so technically he'll be supervising/kibbutzing the tire change....but, if they don't get there in another hour or so, I'll probably get to see it first hand when/if they come tomorrow.
The pig activity has died off (pun intended)...my neighbor to the north waged war on the oinkers after they totally destroyed some spring planting he did. Over the course of 2-3 weekends, and using a timed feeder, he shot four adult sows, an old boar and several squeakers. Since then, I've only seen signs of a few small pigs in my creek bottoms and none have been in our trap either.

Water Ballast, this brings back memories. My Grandpa in Virginia always used concrete as ballast in his John Deere A's and Allis-Chalmers U orchard tractors,I remember the holes bored into the sidewalls where the concrete could be seen. He always claimed it gave better traction in the moist soil with the additional benefit of no flat tires, and was a helluva lot cheaper than tthe cast iron hub weights the dealers sold. You ever hear of this?

We are on the raod this weekend; first to Indy for a wedding and then to Bloomington, IN to take the youngest to a soccer camp at IU. Driving the E300 since it got fixed. The A/C does not work on the 300D. If it was cooler I would want to take it. I enjoy driving it on the interstate. Such a fine machine.

the contractor will begin to remove/replace the exterior siding on the house. If I'm lucky I'll apply stain to the deck I powerwashed last Saturday but didn't stain Sunday because the weather channel predicted rain on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday. Rain did occur and very heavily on Tuesday, but I lost the 2 days prior. Lastly will continue to scan all sources I know (ebaymotors, cycletrader. IBMWR, and craigslist) for my newest passion, a BMWR80RT.

My wife and I are leaving Sunday in the '94 E320 (with newly installed XM radio) from Fairfax, VA to reach North Conway, NH for a week in NH, VT, and ME. I'd leave this minute if I could.
