Fun and games with Valerie Plame

This should be fun to watch, although I wish their lawyer hadn't called the press conference to announce the lawsuit. It is, IMHO, an inappropriate use of the media and is also unnecessary. Are they worried that the media won't pick up the story?

Anyone know what the rules are concerning a civil suit against a sitting VP? Or maybe there are no special rules.

The press conference does seem a bit tacky, but they will say they called it so as to prevent misinformation about the suit. Like you said, dculkin, this will clearly get a lot of coverage.

VP will probably get removed from a civil suit. I hope the others go forward.

Elected people going postal on GS employees is really bad for the gov. It makes every GS decision a political event. I don't think anybody wants to go down that road. I'll bet she's got as good a case as whatsername that blew the whistle on Clinton (no, not that whistle). She was in DoD and then got butchered by the exec branch and their lackies. I think she won something like a half-mil?

That might be right, I have no idea, but if the Supreme Court found that Paula Jones's suit against Bill Clinton could proceed, then I don't see why Cheney should get a pass.

It will be interesting to see what the damages are since she (her identity) was compromised to the Russians in 1997.

As Palangi would say, "Yuppers." Until the demos get the house back, Repos going to give themselves a pass on a whole lotta stuff. Amazing that the Supremes actually reined in the Admin. on Gitmo. Even if Roberts had voted, wouldn't have mattered. Don't you know if it'd been 4-4, he might have found a reason why he didn't really need to recuse himself?

they are working really hard to try to make it so the repos will be able to rule permanently.

the lack of safety of the new voting machines is very troubling for our country. regardless of your politics having one party with too much control is not very good.

That electronic voting business is a terrible idea. I cannot believe that one of the party's hasn't taken that on as a campaign issue.

Oh wait, somebody pass me the foil hat. I think I see a pattern.

I should research France's paper ballot setup. I understand it takes longer for the count, but is way less confusing (Florida), you clearly have a paper trail , and I'll bet it's many, many $millions cheaper than what Diebold is hawking.

I hope the Wilsons' lawsuit has legal merit because Cheney and Rove are going to have a hard time trashing Valerie Plame on a personal level.

McCain folded early - Joe Wilson has shown no such tendency, and I suspect Ms. Wilson will/is following his lead.
