Brake Warning Light On Dash

The break light on dash is on all the time The emg brake is off. The fluid is full and I am not losing any. Why is the light still on?

There should be a small wire that runs from your caliper to one of the clips on each brake pad. Check these. If, on the ends, there is metal exposed, then that is your problem. Your pads will probably need replaced. These are sensors that tell you when your pads are just about done for. What it does is ground out on the rotor, turning on your light.

Some of us aren't so fortunate! This thread diagnosed the same problem I am having. My 87 SDL didnt come with a manual. And the scan I have of the service manual is all fuzzy when it comes to IDing the idiot lights.
