Militant Christians are definitely more of an irritant to me personally.

Any religious nuts are an irritant. However, the question is which one is more deadly. IOW, would you rather have a militant Christian badger you to convert or burn in hell or someone that sets you on fire. I am not that worried about the militant few. It is the less militant many that support the militant few that worry me most.

I lived in the bible belt before and someone tried to convert me and wouldn't let me leave my aprtment before he was done. I talked to Uncle Ruger and we tried to see if he wanted to meet god. He didn't

True. But radical Christians seem to have more sway over American politics, and therefore more potential to do widespread harm, than Muslims are ever likely to achieve. I don't mind door-knockers, they're interesting :)

Not so very long ago it was mainstream Christians who were setting fire to strange and troublesome women like me :)

Our trouble isn't with muslims, it's with fringe wackos. It just so happens that, this decade, the wackos are of the muslim variety.

You got it spot on. I've always been moderate in my political views But if being a right wing nut job is required to agree with what you said, I guess that makes me a right wing nut job.

I really find it diffucult to even begin to understand a point of view that equates political lobbying by a group of people or being proselytized by the J dubs, for example, with what Militant Islam is doing today in the world and evidently in Seattle today. Wake up and smeel the coffee doesnt' even begin to address it. Maybe; get reconceived and regrow your brain...

But if the fringe whackos are being supported by the "mainstream" what is the difference? If you are giving the whackos money knowing that they are bombing others, are you a whacko yourself or just a bystander.

Aklim- The next time Jehovah's Witnesses come to your door and try to convert you- answer the door naked. friend of mine had this problem, answered the door naked and they never came back.

I'm in the middle politically. But, as you may have guessed I've been informed by many that I'm a rose-colered glasses wearing, chest thumping right winger. Not that the title particularly bothers me, it's just not what I am. I've been aware for quite some time now with regard to militant Islam. It's too bad that there are so many who aren't.

I guess we're left with the right wing nutjobs and the middle of the road folks to illustrate to others what the pressing issue of the day is. It's not what christians did 500 years ago or what the US did 100 years ago or what the UN did 60 years ago if that helps.

I switch back and forth from time to time as the mood hits. I've always been somewhat of a classic liberal. Of course, that definition doesn't have anything to do with what liberalism is thought of today. This stuff is nuts. Maybe it was just one nut job, for now I hope this is the case. Isolated things like this happen.

But if this is the beginning of a pattern, if all of a sudden busses start blowing up ect, we need to act.

These people need to be weeded out, tried and shot. Not always in that order.;)
