Any idea on what's wrong with my truck? Dyno



Took it to the dyno, and thats what I got. Wasnt expecting much, but... What's up with that?

engines lose power as they age ... unless they are taken care of down to the smallest detail...

You have about 200 horsepower with about 200 ft lbs of Torque. Thats not too bad. You have to remember its a 302. What was the stock power rating of the motor. I don't remember off the top of my head.

There is something seriously amiss with those graphs. Either the HP or the torque or both are incorrect.

If I use the torque curve and calculate the HP, I get the following at various engine speeds:

3000: 74HP
3500: 93
4000: 129
4500: 171
5000: 161
5500: 162
6000: 125
6500: 99


The aforementioned HP figures make much more sense than the curve posted for HP.

171 rear wheel HP for a 302 would be considered typical. Such an engine would not produce 200 HP at the rear wheels.

I'd question exactly what you received from them for the money expended.

I think you're correct, Ray........now those curves begin to make some sense................LOL.........they sure are not torque and HP...........

Were the tests performed with a normally aspirated 302...or did it have a "blower"?

i rember someone modified their go cart and put a fitting so they could put an airline and air tank on the cart... acts like a supercharger.. if it works go with it
