The UN has now given Iran until Aug.31 to halt uranium enrichment. Any bets on what will happen Sept. 1?

This would make a good Snickers ad. You know, when they say "not going anywhere for a while? Grab a Snickers."

The possibilities are endless. Not unlike the hand-wringing and authorship of many-a-resolution at the UN.

The "not going anywhere?" reminds me of USAF technical school. We marched in flights of probably 75-100 people and always tried to get my buddy Phipps up front to set the pace. Tall guy = bigger stride = quicker pace. Inevitably, some a$$hat would insist that a short girl be put up front because the boys "walk too fast." One day this happened, and I KID YOU NOT, a bonafide Texas tumbleweed blew past us as we marched to school. It was all Phipps and I could do not to get called out of the flight for laughing.

Like Communism, the UN seems like a great idea on paper. Like Communism, it seems to be an utter failure in practice.
