Oh yeah...

A few weeks ago, we got a couple of little wild kitties as mousers for the barn. Where are they now? Snoozin' in an aircondtioned garage, 88 miles from that barn.

The three chow chows EXPECT a pig ear or rawhide chew every night before bed and will bark at you if you don't hand it over fast enough.

Mr. Felix. Old, and damned near 100% blind now. He gets his own La-Z-Boy (with a heated pad on it during the winter).

When i let my dog Hershey out, he expects a treat to come back in the house. I have to actually promise him a dog biscuit to get him to come back inside. He's gone blind in the past few weeks (he's 13 years old now) so i literally have to guide him to his food and his water bowl, and in the middle of the night i can hear him wandering around the house because he runs into lots of things.

I plead guilty. Last week, I bought $40 worth of dog treats at Trader Joe's in Scottsdale . . . and spent $8 on chocolate covered raisins for me.

My late Maine Coon cat . . .

.
. . . whose name was Arizona, wasn't spoiled -- if you define "spoiled" as "expecting treatment beyond the ordinary." That high level of comfort, attention, play, regular meals, etc., was perfectly ordinary to him. The same, I suspect, is true of Oreo, my current tuxedo-coat part-Persian.

Any loved cat is spoiled by definition. They expect the best, and they get it. Where's the problem?

I can safely assume that my dog (Peanut) gets better treatment than most of you guys. The dog only gets POLAND SPRING so you can only imagine.

Here are pics of the pooch:

Is that a halo over Jaeger's head?

Man, I rue the day that Mr. Felix decides it's time to feed the tree. We have no idea how old he is (vet's guesstimate when I adopted him 3 years ago was around 10) as he's a rescue, so his number might be up before too long. Sorry to hear Jaeger's no longer with you. We've lost, uh, 5 family dogs during my lifetime. It's no fun.

I have two small boys - no time to cater to the Dachsunds. Sucks for them, but I do what I can for them.

We took in an alley cat that has turned out to be one of the best kittys ever. I tell everyone that her life is comparable to a homeless person winning the Super Lotto.
