Interesting old AMG models for sale

at www.richmondmercedes.com

I've seen most of these, they are from Barry Taylor's collection. Barry has been in business over 20 years, and really knows these cars, he has gone to Germany and personally cherry picked them. He's incredibly knowledgeable and a great guy to talk to, he lives and breathes AMG, and has a huge collection of AMG parts, wheels and accessoriies for sale too.

Most of these have been in his shop for quite a long time, and are unique. I personally don't like the convertible but the 280 W126 4 speed with velour and crank windows, and wood trim on the door pockets looks delicious.

There's nothing cheap here, but these cars are really worthy of a look.
As far as I know, these are all authentic AMG cars.

I've driven one of Barry's cars he imported for a customer, (a 500SEC AMG) on a long trip once, it was just sublime.

Those are nice looking

Nice looking cars, Jim. Is Richmond close to where you live? Isn't that up near Oregon?

No, Richmond is just north of Berkeley, Calif. and across from San Francisco.
He's an expert in getting the DOT/EPA issues resolved, and the cars titled for the customers. It's really too bad the gray market process raises the prices of the cars so much....

The best part of that job must be going to Germany and Austria and buying those cars.

Barry Taylor apparently bought out the left over stock of AMG bits in North America when AMG became part of Mercedes. Also, reading up on him... some people don't have a good oppinion on him(read Satish's experience on the AMG enigne Barry built for him).

On eBay they've been selling AMG mugs for $30/$40 each and old AMG catalogs for $100, with the price applied to part orders.

I heard that too, plus I hear he represents himself as part of AMG, (he gave me a card that said so) when he really isn't. Don't know what it all means or the story, but I would do serious research before doing business with him, just to be safe.

The prices are absurd. With poor pictures and descriptions, he will still be trying to pawn off these gray market rejects for years to come. The cars look neglected, and it's absurd to read that if you pay his 12k price for the 280SE he will bother to was it for you. No thanks.
