Sewer venting... (Plumbing question)

I consulted with a plumber and was told that the following under IPC, is allowed:

Anyone disagree with that? It is considered a horizontal wet vent - utilizing the lav vent.

Yes? No? Seems too easy... I thought I'd run it by you folks.

Are you talking about venting a second fixture off the vent of another (lav) fixture? It seems like we've done that before in commercial applications. We install laboratory equipment including sinks, washers, etc. They passed inspection, so I'm assuming this was up to code.

probably cause they get flow that trickles in unlike when a sink or toilet drians all at once.

i think there is a max distance from the vertical vent for the tub or shower and the wc. it has been thirty years since i worked for three months as a building inspector.

now i pretty much draw a schematic and depend on the plumber to get it right.

I presume that you are running a straight vent line off the 3" waste line and the lav T's into the vent and is used as a drain as well..........a wet vent.

Your drawing shows the lav inline with the vent when it probably T's into the vent.......in similar manner to the shower.........correct?

The only concern I'd have is the size of the drain line from the lav. Usually they are 1.5"...........I'd probably use 2" if it was the vent for the w/c.
