wheel question

i know this should go on the tech board but i think i'll get a response faster here.
will the 15" factory wheels from a 190e fit on my 1984 300 sd?

Don't believe the offset on the 190's wheels will be suitable for the SD. You'd need an offset of less than 30 to make it work for you.

Check for the "ET" designation on the inside of the wheel.

seller said he is using wheels from an s420 on the 190 now so i thought it might work.

I believe the S420 (W140 body) will have a much higher offset than the W126 so those wheels might fit the 190.

It's doubtful that they'll fit a W123 or W126.

No, I have a wheel off a W201 sitting in my shed. They most certainly do not fit any W126.

W140 wheels may fit if you replace the tires. The stock W140 tire size is to large. Replace with a 225/55/16 I think. Not sure of the W140's offset, its a bit of a gamble.

Just because someone says they are using them, doesn't mean they fit.
