definition of insanity
Someone said that unsuccessfully doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results defines insanity. This charatcersizes the current clowns in this administration.
Also, Rumsfeld calling opponents fascists indicates he had his battery plugged in backwards. Who else but fascists detain people without charges, trials, rule of laws, etc., abrogates treaties at will (quaint Geneva Conventions), and mismanages national disasters (Katrina) due to overweaning cronyism and complete incompetence. Practice abstinance: No Bush, No Dick |

One could also define insanity as pegging one person in the whole entire world as the bugaboo of everything bad.
Know anyone that does that? |

The true insanity is the general population thinking that if they elect someone different, the result is going to be different!!
Government cannot be trusted - doesn't matter who/what party is running it! You will refuse to admit this, until the propaganda has been brainwashed out of your head! I'm really getting tired of political threads of this nature....as if they would solve any sort of problem. Instead of repeating yourselves (and hoping for a different result!), why don't you come up with a solution for the bigger picture!? (ie: how to change government to such a degree that is is more manageable than the pile of misdirected dung* we have now) *Senators, Representatives, and all of the other s.o.b's that claim to have the people's interest at heart; and all of what they say and do, and how they let themselves be bought by PAC's and who knows who/what. Legalized forms of bribery for the pimps of the people....that's who they are. They disgust me!!! *sigh*... I don't even know why I typed this....darker forces are in control anyway, so what's the f'ing use. |

A thread titled "definition of insanity" hardly makes me think it's going to be another political thread, but rather a thread about doing $5000 worth of upgrades on a Yugo :D
As far as if we would be off better or worse with Gore or Kerry (or John Doe), it doesn't really matter. Our government is such a large machine that their impact isn't all that great when it comes to we, the people. I'm reminded of being told how a large freighter needs a mile(!) to make a turn...in some ways that's our government. When a politician tells you you're Number 1, he uses his middle finger. Yes, common folk would be good....trouble is, common folk aren't sleazy and selfish enough to want that sort of job - not unless the people he/she would work with are of the same mindset. Just like it takes a special type of person to want to be a judge or a doctor, or an artist, or a chef, it takes a special type of person to want to be in politics - unfortunately, I disdain most of them. |

One of my best friends and godfaddah to one of my daughters was in the state legislature for 16 years, IIRC. He was a Mississippi lawyer. He never became wealthy but he lived very comfortably. Died in 2003.
He said he chose not to run for re-election when he got pissed-off at his constituents for bothering him all of the time. He said he realized at that point that he had become a typical arrogant politician who thought he know more that the voters. So he retired from elected politics. But he did stay active in his party (Democrat) up until his death. I wish there were more politicians like him. B |
