which identifies known spoof emails.
2. Get eBay Toolbar with Account Guard which warns you when you're on a
potentially fraudulent (spoof) Web site.
3. Sign up for Equifax Credit Alerts for PayPal Users, a program that
provides an early warning detection system in the event of identity
theft. Find out more by visiting the PayPal Identity Protection Center
at www.paypal.com/idprotection.
4. Frequently monitor your PayPal account for suspicious activity.

Remember to forward any suspicious email to spoof@paypal.com .

Remember that Paypal or Ebay will never ask you to update your information. When you do log in never use links provided in emails; type them in yourself.

Always check the links that are provided - just put your mouse pointer over the link, and look at the URL that shows up on the bottom of your task bar.

I believe that when PayPal does send a legit email, they address you by name, not by the generic "dear member/paypalmember".

Don't rely on the mouse pointer more sophisticated spoofers have a work around for that, manually enter www.whoever.com and go from there.

and immediatly forward the message if you do it fast enough you are stopping the spoof before someone is scammed.

That is something I do - However, I wonder how much they check these spoofs out. How many people work in the spoof dept.? It's not like they are money makers.

Have you noticed that these emails seem to come in spurts? I'll get 3 or 4 in a week, and then nothing for about a week.

Thanks for the heads up. I never buy anything off of E-bay unless I can send a money order or cashiers check....call me an old fashioned broad (no pun intended). Have a good weekend guys.

By way of dripping fluid on their forehead until it finally penetrates through to the brain and kills them. Naturally, I would use old diesel oil.

I think hydrogen peroxide would work even better...if fizzes, has a "certain" aroma to it and it will probably "eat" through the epidural layer a bit faster than motor oil...and isn't that what a "slow, painful, death" is all about...slow for them...fun and anti-A.D.D. for us? :D
