Makes my 603 look like a lawn mower! 2,400hpX2 in the latest Viking 64. Looks like the German HP wars are spilling over into the marine world!:D

Wow only $418,421! Put as many into my 747 Cargo Conversion as you can headed for the Feadship yards and give the bill to my platinum blonde assistant holding the Gucci suitcase with the bearer bonds and the martini. :D

Oh yeah, you should see what checking that option box does to the new Viking 64's $2.5M base price. But who wants 1,500 Cats?:D

TheDon 09-08-2006 06:35 PM

ill take 7!

if you can afford those you can afford the diesel for them... i sure as hell wouldnt put anything like veggie in it.. good way to melt a piston if you foul an injector in a modern diesel

I like the flexibilty of a CODAG system. I like 20-25,000 SHP on tap when I need it :D It's useful for drag racing other yachts for pinks in Monaco. ;)

Very true, who wants the slower boat?:D

Usualy owners of such boats are not very concerned with fuel costs. As one said to me, "so what if it goes up $1, than I'll spend $40k this season insted of $30k.":D

Yeah but with the extra $10K they could get a key chain fob for the Enzo with Michael Schumacher's picture on it.

Isn't that enough to almost do a brake job on an Enzo?:D

pffft no

As for the Enzo, they are all still under warranty but soon enough that will change and many Ferrari service managers will go shopping for new luxury boats. Once off warranty, a full brake job with new carbon fiber pads ($2,300 front and $2,100 rear) and rotors ($7,400 each) will be in the $40,000 range, while a new clutch assembly should cost only a modest $6,000. Still cheap compared to racing a large sailboat.:D Racing a large sailboat is simply the most expensive hobby in the world.:D

ForcedInduction 09-09-2006 12:37 AM

I'd be happy to stuff a 35.7L engine under my hood. :D

Try shopping for military aircraft and parts. Sailboats will look cheap. ;)

Well if you include taking over a country or running a military as a hobby.:D Which certain people I am sure do... Certian racing programs, some of which are private ventures usualy can equal the GDP of a third world country.

Of shore Maxi class boats, $1M never bought so little.

Heck the upkeep of a J class boat has to be equal to the GDP of Rhode Island!:D

I don't think he was talking about buying aircraft FOR the government...some people buy and fly "used" ex-military aircraft as a hobby.
