I found water damage in the cabin, so we can assume it was drowned.

Brings to mind the Porsche 928 in the movie “Risky Business”.

Probably a nice case of hydrolock,no big deal really,what would scare me are the corroded electronics and their multifarious connectors

If the motor doesn't turn, I'd like to know how he got the gauges to work - Especially the RPM and Oil pressure gauge.

I dunno,Vermont. If it were in Connecticut,even southern Mass,I'd be tempted to go see it myself for an assessment.

The only way to answer these questions is to view the car personally.

If hydrolocked,did he remove the plugs to get rid of the water or,as is typical,did it bend a con-rod?is the engine runing in the pics or are the gauges pegged because of corrosion or water?

He is covering his butt by his minimalist description,he is simply stating the car was flooded and will not run,could be a whole can of worms.

This brings to mind, I believe, the CarFax commercial where you "see" a car in the surf, getting pounded on by the waves and such, and there's "someone" typing something like "...some water damage..." and they then backspace over the "water damage" part and say something else like "...been to the beach and back..." BS'ng.

I'd stay away....a LONG WAY AWAY!!!

Poor bidder, zero feedbacks, new ebayer, probably doesn't know what he is getting into.

Just a pile of parts, full of mud, maybe sewage, mold, saltwater, rust, a car that could have been problematic when brand new.

It's a total loss, not worth fixing. Hell, not even, as the Insurance companies, say, a DRIVEABLE total loss.

One to be parked in the dumpster, use it in a demolition derby, or dare I say, use it for a TalibanToyota,kaboom!!!

I wouldn't go near it even if YOU paid ME.

remember folks.

a total loss means the cost to repair exceeds the value of the car.

that is all it means.

if the car is worth 10k the cost to repair that totalled it could be anything from 10,001 to 50,000.

this car i would suspect is one that the cost to repair exceeds the value by quite a lot.

the wheels and tires are probably ok. and maybe the headlight lenzes and the fenders. and maybe even the glass. after that all is dicey, imho.

so if you need those parts it is worth maybe $500. if you dont need any of that stuff, well...

If its an S600,how come it doesnt have dual-zone climate control,a wood shifter and the switchs on the car are all in a messed up place?

Doesn't the S600 shifter knob have "V12" printed on it?

Heres a picture of my 1998 S500 console.Notice how it differes from that S600...and yes,the S600 shifter should say S600 or V12 I think.
