after visiting my aged aunt in wakaursa, near napannee indiana.

lots of amish around there. driving buggies, walking (in the road four abreast, no less) and one young woman in full amish long skirt, bonnett and apron on roller blades. lots of very nice homes and farms sporting no electricity and lots of horses in the barn lot.

these folks know horses. their buggy horses are invariably black and look long legged as a thoroughbred.

i said to mrs. w. "when we get home, lets watch 'witness' again". it is a harrison ford movie filmed in amish country in pennsylvania. very beautifully done movie with what appeared to be a lot of authenticity. danny glover plays a bad cop in it. and viggo mortenson plays an amish. i didnt notice him in the movie just the credits.

so we watched it again and enjoyed it very much.

The Amish are a curious group, and you can say a lot about them.
One thing is certain--They have reminded all of us what unconditional forgiveness is. Its too bad all of us can't/ won't forgive like they do.

yes, we discussed that as we drove through and at the family reunion that we were up in elkart for.

i would have a tough time with that as i am sure most of us would.

the question was what did God have in mind when all this happened? and actually i dont think God made this happen, but the example that the amish set for the rest of us is so powerful that it in itself is the one good thing that can be taken from it.
