That guy is as much a freak as his clients. I'm glad they have found each other. It keeps the money circulating.

Oh thats just incredible, I look forward to one day getting the SDL's paint finish that perfect. It will cost a lot on top of the cost of new paint, and take hundreds of hours. But the results will be insane.

If you look at cars like art that level of perfection is orgasmic.

Yes I am the kind of person that would admire one over a glass of wine.

Griots is going to be my weapon of choice, I'll put a $1,000 order through to them after I get the SDL repainted.

Regardless of the cost of materials, just the processes required is insane!

And I thought I was was doing well by just claying prior to the machine polish and wax!

I guess my Zymol Vintage is cheap garbage compared to the stuff this guy uses... Interestingly, he applies his the same way - by hand.

And - Using a pressure washer......
And - Getting overspray all over those other nice cars parked so close. (I guess he’ll do those next.)
Regardless of what I was being paid. If the materials (soaps and such) cost that much. I don’t think I’d be sloshing it all over the place like that either. (Especially, if I had those other cars to do next.)

Funny how folks can be with their fancy cars. It’s got to be something other than a money thing too.
We’ve got over 25 million in aircraft here, and when it comes to washing them - It’s a bucket. Mild dish soap. A big sponge. A mop. And the garden hose. (All from Wal-Mart) And - No. We don’t wash them in the sun.

And who needs to hire a professional? My 7 and 9 year olds (and their friends) do a great job.

I must be missing something.

I posted before watching all the way through. It appears that he is indeed using Zymol products, including HD Cleanse as a precleaner. As for the wax, I'm not sure which one it is, perhaps a custom formulation? In any event, much pricier than Zymol Vintage...

It was interesting to see his multiple steps when detailing a car. Lately, every time I do something under the hood, I will detail that area. I replaced the brake fluid in my wife's car last night and while I had the reservoir off for cleaning, I cleaned the booster and all underneath the master. I figure it has not been cleaned in 21 years.

I wish I had the know how to get my car properly detailed. But I can see it also takes alot of different materials and machines to do it properly.

and I thought I was thorough!

Wow, I'm a slacker when it comes to car washing and detailing, I guess.

I can't imagine going to those lengths on a car that isn't kept in a museum. I'm surprised he wasn't wearing a white lab coat!
