Anyone looking for a bike....cheap!

1978 Suzuki GS1000. New battery, paint, front suspension rebuilt, carbs rebuilt, recent chain/sprockets and aftermarket fairing.

The fairing is ugly and the bike needs a little TLC, but it runs great.

$800

I am not a big fan of the fairing either. It is an original Vetter fairing though. I am not too crazy about the color but it is OK and of great quality. I have too many bikes and this one must go.

A bit bigger but you are right!

I've been calling it the Barney bike.

I had it's little brother, a 1977 GS550. Spent a lot of time on it scrapping the peddles

It could have had a bigger engine, like that one

I have a '79 KZ 650 and I thought it was pretty fast. Let me tell you there is no replacement for displacement. Once you hit the sweet spot this thing will lift the front wheel.

Used to have a GSXR750 that would go 0 to 60 in under 2 seconds with the mods to the engine and exhaust. Just put it in 1st and gun it and you were going 60 in 1st gear at redline. What a screamer.

An old bike like that must be hard to get parts for.
