We don't know that energy prices will go up while your experiment is running. They have been going down a bit in the last few weeks.

I like the water sector like crash right now, but I'm in the water ETF (PHO - powershares) rather than the individual stocks. For biotech speculation you could look at ARNA for the obesity and diabetes drugs they have in the pipeline or PTN has a sex drug in phase III trials. Not sure they'll pay off in aa month though.

With Dems in charge avoid HAL like the plague... likely to be the single most investigated company. My sister in law (analyst at Calvert) said she's looked at HALs books over and over and cannot understand how the company is still listed.

I guess you guys don't have transaction costs in this experiment? If you do then it's not economical to purchase 1 share at a time.
