It's an entry from the Urban Dictionary.

Mahatma, lol! Yeah, I know.

Figured I'd defend some Detriot iron since it's been bashed so much lately.

Good.....First V8 I ever "worked"was a 260,same thing as a 289-302.

This was in a '63 Mercury Meteor S-33 2 door hardtop with center console and buckets.

The usual stuff listed above, the Isky cam had almost no manifold vacuum at idle so I had to fit an electric vacuum pump for the power brakes. Had really nice Fenton headers feeding into flo-thru "cherry bombs"remember them? Ripped out the 2 speed Fordomatic and worked a '39 LaSalle tranny with electric overdrive giving me a 4th speed on top of 3rd direct,I blew ring and pinion gears every 300 miles, even with anti-roll bars and Spicer-Flex "torque absorbing"U joints and a hydraulic and spring-damped pressure plate, man, that was fun...and all done on a budget with raceway and junkyard castoffs.

I'm not Med, but it sure sounds like a Baker act type of thing to me.

I wonder if the headers had more of an effect on engine vac than the cam did?

Nahh, come on..this was based on the classic Isky 505,originally developed for Mopar mills, rough idle but quick off the mark, sort of a lousy street cam profile for idling and low rpm's but it would reveal it's true colors after the tach hit 1,200-1,500.

The headers had the added virtue of joining ported heads, polished to the equivalent of 900 grit grain, sodium cooled exhaust valves and a real free-flowing exhaust system,"cherry bombs"being straight thru glass packs with almost no back pressure, the whole secret therein,at least in 1978 technology.
Recall from my previous posts that I practically ran a racing machine shop from 16 to 18 when I decided to go to Horology School, also discussed here.
