anybody ever have "trigger finger"?

I had surgury on my left hand long finger today to correct trigger finger. I had been causing me some issues over the last year while wrenching but the Harley was the last straw;). It seems to be doing fine now so far. Anybody ever have this procedure?

My father developed what may have been early trigger finger or Dupuytren's Contracture. Before surgery was required, the condition reversed. He basically rested his hand and the tendon (or sheath) healed on its own. Apparently it is relatively common in men of northern European descent?

Hope your hand heals well!

Trigger Finger

I had two fingers on my left hand operated on 15 years ago to correct my "trigger finger" condition. The healing process was very quick, and I have experience no problems at all. My only regret is that I waited for years before I had the surgery.

Just to explain to people who have never heard of "trigger finger". In my case I was unable to bend my fingers back to touch the palm of my hand. I could not have fired a rifle or grasped a pen in my left hand-if I were left handed.

It was my long finger on my left hand. If I bent it past a certain point it would "lock up" and I was having to use my right hand to straighten it back out. I could not find a comfortable spot with it while riding my m/c. I waited a year for surgery (had it Wednesday of this past week) and I am just about to the point where I can go back to wrenching:).
