SAAB Achieves 1000000 Miles

Seasons Greetings,

Reading over at BITOG, and saw this post about a salesman from Wisconsin, who donated his SAAB to a Museum there.

http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=538098

As others have written before on this, SAAB should give the guy something for this achievement, even though they didn't want the car for their Museum, like DCX, for their Museum in Germany. Makes me think GM or SAAB, doesn't think much of owner loyalty.

Cool story, thx for posting!

I'm hoping to reach 500,000 on my 300E, I'm at 332,000 Km - but road salt is my enemy. So we'll have to see...

SAAB should have given him something!!

But what I find amazing is the fact that the engine hasn't been opened up. That’s a real testament to the quality of Mobil 1, how much you want to bet he changed it every 3k-5k miles as well.

Even the 1M+ mile MB diesels were on there second engine when they rolled over the 1M mark.

Didn't he fall asleep in the garage? Was it a Dodge Dart?

BTW, I saw Ed O' Neill a few years ago he drove a 500SL and was having coffee and reading a book at a cafe in Encino. How UN-Bundy is that?

Yip it was one of my favorite episodes.

I bet he works hard to shake the "Al Bundy" image many actors try their entire life after show biz to shake the role they played one TV or screen.

I haven't seen that episode in ages! I didn't recognize Mr. No-MAAM even though he was sitting just out of my field of vision at the restaurant just 4 feet away. My aunt saw him from the other side of the table and passed me a note that said "the guy from Married with Children". I wanted to say hi but he was intent on reading so I didn't want to be an ass.

Unfortunately the company that built that 1989 900 no longer exists. The next-gen 900/9-3 was a thinly-disguised Opel, and the current generation is practically a Pontiac.

Nice, they should shove the old OHV 2 Valve 3800 V-6 into it and save some money.

I guess it's better than selling the exact same Blazer under, Chevy, GMC, Isuzu and Saab, Subaru names......do they not think people will notice?
