Nafta,how well has it worked?
Freedom in America,
Give me your poor your huddled masses! How long ago was it that these words of milk and honey soured? How long must we the people endure the empty words and promises of our politicians concerning the free trade agreement? Socialism at it best! How can those who pushed NAFTA sit by and say it works? How many bankruptcies will it take to rethink this,oh yes I forgot all that is needed is to change the rules on filling bankruptcy, never admit you where wrong. What about those great paying jobs in the auto industry,Gone from the USA.moved to Mexico, Do they still pay? If this relocation of resources was so good for the people of Mexico and they are paying such wages as to bring the Laval of living to ours, Well I am so sorry for the bankruptcy system in Mexico I know they are hurting. By the way if the pay system is equal to ours why are we thinking of another great wall of china in the USA? Of course there are more people in Mexico than jobs, Oh I suppose that is now true in this country too. Some day the people will finally speak against the unbelievable wrong perpetrated against this country, for the sake of wall street. Someone will finally explain how any one could live thoughtlessly of those displaced from homes and families torn apart for the greed of a few. Once upon a time, the democrats would have gone to arms over the republicans putting the business groups rights ahead of the people. We once had a fairly good checks and balances, What happened? Sure gets a lot of old junkers off the road and down to Mexico. You should see them headed west on I-10. Convoys of 4-5 cars and trucks pulling another car or truck, all of them jam-packed with consumer goods. What is going-down in MX with all of that?

What we'll never know is how it would have been without NAFTA.

We asked the world to send us their "poor and huddled masses", the dregs of society... and they did. Now we are reaping the rewards. Now we are drowning in illegal immigrants and other assorted societal leeches. Nice. Mike

This just in: President Felipe Calderon has announced that, sadly, Mexico will
not be participating in the next Olympics. Every Mexican who can run, jump or swim has already left the country.

A pointless argument, in the end. No one is truly "native" to anywhere, if you go back far enough. EVERYONE'S ancestors came from somewhere else, at some distant point in history. So unless you're talking about the VERY first humans, then EVERYONE"S ancestors immigrated from somewhere else. The practical, effective approach is to deal with things as they currently ARE, not as they "might have been". The reality is: US citizens are the current and legitmate occupants of this area. And it does NOT benefit us as a society to continue to encourage the "poor and huddled masses" to come to our doorstep expecting a handout. Secondly, I haven't claimed to be superior to anyone. Just more observant and brutally honest than many. Mike
