This country, USA, was founded on Christian beliefs (after we kicked American Indians to the curb) by Christian people. I realize that we are a melting pot of different cultures, but I think it is BS that our Christian oriented society should ever feel compelled to bow to the wishes of other cultures. Immigrants come here from all over the world. Sorry folks, you should assimilate to OUR culture. If you liked yours so darn much, why the heck did you leave it????

Is there a point to this thread, other than to make sure that the 1% of the forum that doesn't read the news or watch tv was apprised of the rabbi's lawsuit?

You know every Christmas this crap happens. Its a sad state when you have to remove Christmas trees because you fear a lawsuit. Its also sad that you have to put a display up from every freaken religion or get sued.

This happened in my city, a family wanted to put a manger display out on the green. Sure no problem, it looked good and they were happy doing it. But wait oh no the local nut job atheist thought that religion was being forced down his throat. He tried to get it taken down and even had a protest. The protest was grand, three people showed up with him, and they danced around with there signs. I thought about running one down but decided to just flip them off instead, along with everyone else.:D

The manger display is back on the green this year, the local nut job atheist is quite. Wonder if he was run out of town?;) :D

A creche scene at a local private residence had the baby Jesus idol stolen. Then owners replaced it and it was stolen again on Sunday night.

Weird.

Where I'm at, there's a circle. The town spent $4000.00 decorating it for the holidays. A person cried that the manorah (sp?) wasn't big enough compared to the tree. They forced the town to take the whole display down.

A private businessman put up another $4000.00 and had the entire display put up. This time, without ANY manorah.

A ate at his place of business this morning.

Moral of the story? Point of the thread? See the other replies to this thread.

Maybe some folks are just sick and tired of having certain things thrust in their face. There isn't anything wrong with being Christian.

Now that is a point--and I agree with it. The original post just seemed to be an article that was posted with no opinion attatched. This type of thing doesn't happen very often (if ever that I recall) in the South. Good to see that Seattle grew a pair.
