I like the way the do it in China.

Judge says you are guilty, sentenced to death. Guard leads you out back, want a smoke? No ok Bam. Charge the family for the bullit as well. Simple system, we should adopt it.

Was the Guillotine not invented/improved during the French revolution to execute opponents in a human way...:D

Nice subject. In the US being religious and saying you are a church goer is a popular thing. That brings up one of those messy commandments. Thou shall not kill. I don't think there are any qualifications along with that one. Do any other industrialized 1st world countries have the death penalty?

Dr. Gatlin thought that when he invented his gun, it would put an end to warfair because it was such a formidable weapon. He was wrong.

Like I said, your organs are now property of the state. So you are paying your debts. Unlike here where we kill the guy, he doesn't pay a thing.

And the beauty of separation of church and state. We don't have to worry about what the church says or the commandments.

Does it matter? Do we have to play "monkey see, monkey do"?

In the state of Illinois lethal injection is the state's method of execution. However, it authorizes electrocution if lethal injection is ever held to be unconstitutional. They think of everything except on how to get their ex-corrupt governer to do jail time.

Listed below is a link that describes authorized methods of execution by state:

Hmmm, another thought - does the brain keep working for a while with a severed head?

I heard that you can see and process for another 7 seconds or so, after your head has been removed from it's blood supply.

Guillotine. You'll know right away if it was effective or not. It is quick and needs no energy, just gravity.
Imagine, hearing the blade sliding down.

I'd add a racheting sound, like on a rollercoaster, as the blade is hoisted up.

As the story goes, there was a person who was guillotined....in France who wanted to test the theory to see how long the brain functioned beyond being decapitated so he blinked his eyes and asked an onlooker to time how many seconds his eyes were blinking until it stopped. I guess it's 7 seconds. How creepy.
