Keeping a Diary

Does anyone here keep a diary? This is my New Year's Resolution, in fact, I've already begun with the diary keeping last week. Many people keep diaries I just wonder what the good of it is, but we'll see. I must say that a major concern is where to keep it, online meh, not sure:eek:

you mean a blog?

Hatterasguy 12-24-2006 03:59 PM

No I don't want them to have anything to use against me...:D

I've been doing that for about ten years. It's purely therapeutic for me. I put stuff in there to get it off my mind. One day I'll burn them all. I do go back and reread parts of them from time to time, but mostly it's just a place to dump stuff.

Men don't write in diaries, they use a journal.:book:

Diaries? Journals?

Yep - The wife and I both do.

Except, we refer to them as Logbooks. :D

I do. I keep a training log.

Oh well I have business plans, 5 year investment/business plans. Personal plans do those count?

Thats the German side of me, everything is written down in detail. I love official looking written things!:D

Microsoft and other companies have had paper trails and it has returned to bite them in the ass. I wouldn't. Hell, even the black boxes that go off when the airbags are deployed has gotten at least one person in trouble. Joke is that they own the thing. Kinda like buying someone who doesn't like me a gun to shoot me. No thanx. Remember, anything you write can and will be used against you should it be beneficial to your opponent. IIRC, someone had a thing about Hitler not giving his juniors too many written instructions about the final solution. In any case, Nuremberg would have convicted him anyways. However, my point is that I will not put anything in writing that I am afraid could be used and/or contorted against me.

Diaries are the traditional term for GIRLS journals. I learned the difference between a diary and a journal many years before Oprah came on the scene.

i have been writing in a "composition" notebook for about 20 years now, very good therapy and an excellent anger management tool I might add. I buy a new one each each at the Safeway, still costs $1.00.

Yeah, "Log book." That's what I have, a log book. I like that. "Log book" sounds pretty manly. I'll go with that.:D

Hatterasguy 12-26-2006 01:47 PM

How about memoirs? That doesn't sound girly!:D
