Social justice or injustice...???

Now that the Illegal Alien thread has been thoroughly beaten into the ground I figure it's time to move to another topic so please chime in with opinions. Recently in the news we hear Oprah has built a school in Africa for about a gazillion dollars. Aside from the noble humanitarian cause does it bother people to hear that these famous people take monies earned here in the US and send it abroad for whatever reason? I mean what about the starving and homeless or other noble causes here in our backyard?

For me, it really torques me up to hear about some celebrity that feels they need to save the world and then ignores the very country that has enabled them to attain wealth. I fully understand that you cannot tell one what to do with their monies but I do wonder how her program, magazine and television channel would do if it depended on Africans for sponsorship and/or revenue.
