slingbox?? can I..

Can I hook up the slingbox to my dads house in a different city and be able to watch my dad's cable on my t.v at my house? Reason being he has GREAT cable. Has the nba package, and tons of other channels. Am I able to hook up the slinbox there and watch it on my own tv at my apartment?

Love to figure this out.

What in the hell IS a slingbox?

I see stuff like this advertised and have no idea what it is or why I would even want it. I can't keep up with all of this stuff anymore.

a slingbox allows you to watch t.v from your laptop, cell phone, and any other thing that lets you watch t.v you hook up the "slingbox" to your cable at your house and then your able to somehow hook it up to the device you want to watch your home cable on.

I cant figure out if your able to do this from t.v to t.v. I know you can do it from t.v to phone, and t.v to computer but what about t.v to t.v??

Slingbox relays the TV signal over the internet. If your TV is hooked up to an internet PC, you should be able to watch. I don't know if there is enough resolution to make watching on a big TV worthwhile.

Slingbox controls the cable box so your dad will have to watch what you want to watch.

Carleton, ever eat a sandwich on a Sling Roll?

All of this technology-stuff makes my head hurt! Geez, I feel so old.

We spent a good bit of Sunday afternoon and well into the wee hours of this morning trying to get my girlfriend's and my cell phones to work again after the kind folks at the Sprint store "helped" her upgrade her phone to one that included a camera, internet access, and Bluetooth capability. I've had enough technology to last me for a while!
