Detroit Autoshow 2007 MB Concept
Looking at MSN.com report on Detroit 2007 Auto show, I was not to impress with the Mercedes Concept Ocean Drive model. Maybe it is just me, but the design and style of the four door convertible just did not do it for me. The frontend design of the car looks like garbage with those nasty headlights. The interior has so many gadgets until it looks like a bunch of useless crap. Really why put flat screen in a headrest of a convertible? What was they thinking to put a bright white interior in a convertible?
Okay MB place flat screens in headrest, white interior seats and a four door entry into car; is this suppose to be attractive to a family with kids?:silly: Or maybe this car is suppose to attract couples. Your guess is as good as mine. I really hope that MB does not build anymore of these vehicles and leave this design in concept history. What are some of the members thoughts on this design? http://autoshow.autos.msn.com/autoshow/detroit2007/photogallery.aspx?cp-documentid=2247630 |
Don't like the TVs. Otherwise love it.
|
Beautiful, I hope they build it, but I can't afford it.
|
Nice looking Cadillac XTR with a back seat.
|
Profile looks like a shortened Maybach...
|
For a company thats so strict about driving they wouldnt put a cup holder in my car to put tvs in a car is just asinine.

Pic 2, made me think "looks like a Chrysler 300" Pic 3 made me think "looks like a Camry or Acura - one of "them" anyway" Pic 4 reinforced the thought from Pic 2, with a hint of 70's LeMans thrown in. Pic 5 pretty much the same as Pic 4, except the hood could be an angular version of a 124 hood. Pic 6 no thoughts really, except that it looks long, and reminds me of a 126SEL Pic 7 Reminds me of the old T-birds, except the tail lights would be all wrong. Pic 8 looks like something I didn't really want to see (like peeking under the skirt of an corpulent older lady) Pic 9 Interior looks retro-ish - I'm reminded of luxury cars from the late 60's/early 70's. (Are those silver champagne flutes behind the center armrest??) Pic 10 I guess it's ok to have a vid screen if it's raining out - looks like they forgot to upholster a section on the front seat back. Pic 11 What is that? A joysitck? (I got yer joystick right here...) Pic 12 Oh look! They have Nintendo controllers built into the steering wheel. OK... So, who gives a darn what my opinion is? Nobody - at least until a bunch of people agree...then somebody will notice (and probably not like it) hah! |
The lights.. I do not like.. Makes the car look "blind" to me
|
Consider that the TVs and convertible top are just items to add wow-factor for a car show, and then consider how much more like a proper S this looks like than the current one with the Ford Focus-esque fender blisters...
I like it... |
I'll give it a look personally tomarrow.
yes, I'll also be taking pics. |
I agree with MedMech and others... Looks like one of those ugly new Caddys.... I don't dig it at all. The interior does look rather posh, though...
