Buick Century question
Hello
We own a 2002 Buick Century and the wiper arms need alignment. They do not stop on the botton of windshield, they stay up vertically, would anyone have any idea how to go about and re-align them...its more than just taking them off the motor spindle and adjusting them ![]() TIA |

is the spline stripped? Take the arm off, and examine them. Run the wipers till they park, and re-install the arm tight;ly.

Don't fret too much. I have owned a Buick Century of that style (2000). They are 20x more reliable than my 1999 E300.

When you shut off the wipers do they stop in the same position every time? It sounds like a wiper motor problem to me. No park function. It's been to many years since I have encountered that problem. I'm still thinking wiper motor.

Hello,
Well there was a lot of ice and my mom used the wipers but they could not go into the "park postion" because of the ice. SO now they work fine but always stay up in the vertical position... I am thinking the wiper motor or the Wiper Control Module?? I just do not know if I can adjust it or not ![]() Thanks ![]() That is the car... |

Good lookin' machine! I've got a 1995 LeSabre with many miles. It's my daily driver 'cause my commute is so short and I won't subject the good car to the 3 mile drive. I had a similar problem with my wiper parking position following a severe snow/ice incident. It doesn't sound as severe as yours, but I had the dealer tweak it when it was in for some other service. It must be a minor adj as they charged me $0 for it. It's not a matter of removing the arms, there's got to be an adjustment somewhere.

Hahah, we had a 95 E300D and i must say the buick had less issues
On the GM 3.1 V6, around 60k miles the intake manifold gasket goes and like in our case, the coolant and oil mix, ![]() It was about $350 parts+labour at a local mech,,so not too bad! |

We put 108,000 miles on our 2000 Century. Besides oil/fluids, filters, tires, and brakes here is the long, long list of problems that we had with the car.
1. Power window lock out switch on driver's door broke. This somehow was broken by my wife with her purse. I do not fault Buick. Purchased a used switch assembly for $36 2. Fan switch - detents worn out. Replaced around 82,000 miles......bad Buick ![]() That is the end of the list. Total repair cost $48 The worst part of the car was the ride......too spongy. Other wise it was the best car that I ever owned. It always started, always ran. Hard to beat for dependable transportation. |
