Eh? What's "repugnant" about sending a copy of his book to a serviceman? I don't get the outrage, or outburst, or whatever Imus is having there.

IF he sells one, then he'll send one to a serviceman.
Oh hey guys, lose your legs and/or your sanity in pursuit of this asinine war but hey, Bill O's got your back, he's going to send you a shiny new copy of his book to keep you company at night while your family prays for your safe return. Only after people buy them here of course. It's one of the tackiest marketing campaigns I've ever heard of.

Well, I did peruse it at Barnes and Noble. Bill mentioned page 160 in a joking way on his show and I wanted to see it. It must be seen to be believed: a picture of Bill O in the 70s.
It took me a minute to get Imus's outrage too. I dunno, you've got a point, maybe he's doing other stuff too, it just seems like he's hitching his commerce to their service somehow.

Whats the big deal? He does a lot to support the troops, whats wrong with sending them a few books? If you want something to read, you can't exactly go to Barns and Noble in Iraq.
O'Reilly's last couple of books were pretty good, havn't read his most recent.

Perhaps Sen Clinton could send them copies of, "It takes a village."

Would you object if Clinton or Gore was doing it?
He has said for years that a large chunk of the profits from his books go to various charities. Most public figures talk about such things. You guys just don't agree with his politics, and therefor don't like him.

But no, it *would* not be right if Clinton or anyone else does it. That is is why it isn't right. The fact that I don't like him has zero to do with the argument. |

Am I to assume that you don't know the origin of those letters?
