got a wrecked Smart fortwo today

We had a wrecked 2005 Smart come in today, first one I'd ever seen in person. That thing is TINY and weird. The key is in the console like an old SAAB, rear engine like an old Beetle, tiny turbo that looks like it belongs on a lawn tractor. The rear wheels and about twice as wide as the fronts. The owner dumped it on its side in the snow the other day. Everyone who walked up to it commented that they sure wouldn't want to get hit by a Suburban or semi in that little thing.

I guess those people that said they would not want to be hit in it.. The triden safety cell is the safest thing out there for such a small car.

A customer that comes to my store is from canada (snow bird) She drives a ForTwo CDI, She parked it in a spot and all these people were standing around it looking at it, taking pictures with it(I work at a tourist heavy store) and stuff.. They all comments on how cool it looked and what kinda mpg it gets..

Plus its not the big truck that kills you its the sudden deceleration.

I wish I had the money for a CKD forTwo CDI... Good way around those stupid emmissions for diesels thing.

There's a video on this board somewhere of a Smart hitting a concrete barrier at 70mph and the doors still open afterwards. Pretty impressive for such a tiny car.

I think if a big truck hit it, it would bounce like a ball!

Strange little cars, to small for my tastes. But they are cool looking I'll give them that.

We have had a two-door GEO Metro for about a year now. A tiny car works for almost all of our transportation needs. Needs, that is, not wants. We have other vehicles so it makes it easy. I think a diesel Smart ForTwo would be a great car to own.

I recently saw an article on factors involved in fatal accidents. You have a much better chance of survival than I previously believed. That is, if you don't skip ahead in line.

Hello, from Mardi Gras on the Gulf Coast.
