Business license help
I was wondering if anyone on this board knows what kind of licensing is required to perform pre-purchase inspections on used cars? Does it require anything else other than a business tax receipt?( same thing as what used to be called a general business license). Thanks,
Ryan

I can't answer the question, but if it were me, I wouldn't want a PPI done by anynoe other than an authorized dealer. How else would you know the caliber of the inspector, especially from a distance?
I don't think you would be able to sue an "indy" car inspector, or maybe not even an authorized dealer. So the only consideration is competence. And that's why I would go to a dealer. Granted, they may nit-pick over things that need to be fixed, but you and a seller can evaluate the seriousness of the findings and go from there. That's how I bought mine. |

I agree, but there is also something to be said about having someone who has no interest in making any more money off of you(I.E. on needless repairs). I've also got a few other ideas of how to distinguish myself, but they are not relevant at the moment. Thank you for your help,
Ryan
