I'll bet he was using a mirror. You hardly ever saw his face and some of the detail would have been hard to pull off looking at it from that angle.

OTOH, if he could do it w/o a mirror, he could probably clean up as a street artist.

Good stuff...

Mirror is a possibility, at least for rehearsal.
But maybe he just got good at it.
A mirror also brings with it the problem of having a reversed view, which doesn't exactly make it easier.
