don't want to end up in the weeds on this one...
A friend approached me to collaborate on a resto....I would like to know if anyone has knowledge on finding parts for this car;
Here's what he sent me as the description; 1953 Mercedes Benz 219 SD Description: All original numbers matching sedan. Great restoration project with 6-cylinder engine and manual transmission. i love the old 300ds but i think probably a sedan that far gone is not a good candidate for restoration in terms of economics.
very low production means used parts will be difficult to find. a very lot of money to restore and you can buy pretty nice ones for 20 to 30k. tom w

Thanks Tom, I figured as much....I have one of those friends that comes to me with all these "clean" resto opps and we can get the car for next to nothing but after the last go around I figured I would inquire...nice car though, I can see it all shined up and ready to hit the town....

meh.. If I was near it I would so buy it.. It would be one of those lifetime projects thought. Its a beutiful car when done right
