Favorite Science Fiction
I know there's a "favorite authors" thread here somewhere. How about science fiction more specifically?
I loved reading Jules Verne as a boy. More recently I've enjoyed the books of William Gibson. All Tomorrow's Parties, Neuromancer, Count Zero, Pattern Recognition, etc.

Could we change this to fantasy as well? Nothing, and no one, comes close to The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. As the New York Times so aptly said, "With the Wheel of Time, Jordan has come to dominate the Tolkien began to reveal."

I might be dating myself, but anyone remember the "Tom Swift" (book) series? I used to devour each novel (they were all hardback copies too) as a kid.
