Drug Lord vs International Arms Dealer?

So for someone looking to make a boat load of money, that wants to travel a lot, and wouldn't mind living in a heavly fortified compound in South America, which business would be better?

Back in high school my buddy and I had a great business plan drawn up to smuggle drugs with a boat from Cuba to FL, but for various reasons it never got off the ground.

But now I'm thinking that selling arms would be a better business, I mean people are always going to have to shoot something, you might as well provide them with the means.

I figure I could concentrate on selling cheaper assult rifle's like AK's to African countries and the really pricey stuff like Mig 29's, and SU's to China and various middle eastern countries.

I´d go for the drug lord...

Actually, in my Miami days I had offers to drive a boat through the channels ... I figured my head would be too good of a target ... so, I kindly declined the offer....

AAhhh..... that's the question now, isn't it.....
Often pondered....But here"s the thing..

Either way you have problems...

a) looking over your shoulder forever
b) very illegal which mean jail time here or even worse overseas
c) where are you gonna keep the loot? some bank in Africa?? no FDIC there !
d) not that war will stop anyway, but look all the people you can hurt un-intentionaly

So what to do?....Since I am a money loving, capitalist b$stard from hell businessman I thought how can I make a mint and not have to go on the DL..

The only logical answer is, yes that's right...televangelist....it's a license to steal...get this TAX FREE....and what better..your here in the US...living large...the good life....printing money....

Don't laugh...that Luis Palau dude is raking....

Funny that you mention offers like that.

When I was at Embry Riddle in Daytona Beach (early 80‘s), we used to like to fly down to Miami, and sometimes over to the Bahamas. It seemed like every time we pulled into an FBO (Airport gas station kind-of place) down around Miami (Ft. Lauderdale, Opa Lacka....) we’d be hit on by some old lady that had a proposition for us.
They were all about the same: Her, and her husband flew down from the mid-west in their little airplane for the winter. The husband died suddenly of a heart attack. Now she’s needing someone to fly the airplane back to someplace like Atlanta or Jacksonville, where their family friend will take it from there. Oh - and don’t mind all the taped up boxes in the plane. That’s just their personal stuff she wanted to take home from the summer home. Nor the fact that all the back seats have been removed from their beautiful little Beech Bonanza.
We always liked to ask why the “family friend” could make it down to Atlanta or Jacksonville for the plane, but not to Ft. Lauderdale, etc. That’s when the BS really started to fly.

Like Hammertime said why risk having your head put in a vise or having multinational task forces headed up by Ethan Hawke hunt you down? There are plenty of scams to run in the US.

What ever happened to that guy in Florida who claims he is Jesus Christ or something along those lines?

" Lord of war" is practically a biography of my father's life, with the exception of the woman, and a few other things. When he did it it was easy to do. Now there are a lot of anti terrorist groups, and the U.S. does things a bit differently. The government of the world have come up with new definitions for "Terrorists".He's always been backed and endorsed by the U.S. govt. though, but they've always stayed in the background, and would never openly admit association with my father, and his competitors. Ver complicated business. He forbade my siblings and I to ever get involved, yet allowed us to begin our own personal collections at very early ages. Hardly my #1 interest lately though, and never been a priority of any type for me though. I assume, keep it all behind locked doors, and walls, somewhat to myself, and in the family. Check out our discussion in "What else do you collect?" for details I've divulged the other day. I'll say no more about it though.

Yes, in fact I do, have a Lahti model 39. When we were kids, my dad actually had client come to the area, and they went and tested it out. My bros. and I were not with them, but the sub-sonic rounds did a job on the target( which was a 74 Chevy) and were heard for a long way. My bros. and I went there a few days later on our four wheelers, and observed the destruction. I've fire Gatelins, but never saw the Lahti fire in person. I've got a nice example of my own, but have no real place to try it out anymore with all of these post 9/11 things going on, and the world going wild. Unless you want to stop a tank, or take down a small aircraft, they are not very practical, and definately not easy to conceal.
The rounds alone are almost seven inches long, and the diameter of, well, say almost a golf ball... 20mm rounds are serious.

Are those Class III or destructive devices etc etc. Do you have one of those G/E Miniguns too? STG44? Howdah? 700H&H?

They are considered to be destructive divices. They are illegal for the general public to touch. I, as well as my family can hold them legally, due to..once again, My father's connections to Government, and his "Immunity" for lack of a better term, to the standard laws of the U.S. and other government rules and laws.
I was thrown out of the Army in 1996, for a reasons related to my "Making fun of" their weapons, and "teasing" some high ranking personnel about the U.S. military's, "kid's Toys " as I refered to them.
They did some checking on me, on their own, and I was soon dismissed from the armed forces, for "Conflict of interest" once they found out who, and what my father was. In knowing that my father was "supplying" the "enemy", in any given war or battle, future or past, I was considered to be some sort of "Security risk" as they put it. Being a true Atheist, and having no genuine alegience to any specific country, god, or community, or anything else for that matter, were also factors they based my dismissal/banishment on. Becoming class III certified is almost impossible, for normal citizens also. They are watched,or monitored regularly after they do get it also. For me, and my siblings, it was simply granted from day one. One day I was informed by my father, that I was "legally certified", while sitting at the dinner table. I had never filled out a single form, and I don't think he ever filled one out for me. I never took a course, a test, a background check, or anything else normally involved in the process.
I know they already knew my background, and probably watch me now and then. I don't care though, and never really have. My main interests in life has always been more normal. Cars/trucks, Driving, travel, a future wife/kids, all the everyday things you all either have, or want. I've got these weapons in my name, and do much of what I do with them, simply to appease my father I guess. It started out fun, but I soon got bored with it. Recently these Mercedes have taken the lead over all of the rest of my interests. My transportation company is my real work, and income, and I do my own thing. So, all these things just stay more or less locked up, and out of sight, and I can care less. I won't part with them, ever, just the same though. Gotta have some "Home protection"...lol of some sort right. Arsenal works for me.
