Whaddya want to know how to do?
I am running linux on mine through the use of many, many mods! I also have a 250gig hard drive, tons of music, and its bascically the brain of my system... what did you have in mind? I tried xp, no luck..

I dont know what mod chip to get.. I found a website xbox-scene.com which is kinda helpful but their noob topics are outdated...
what I really want is the ability to have an OS, file storage, rip DVD's and store and play music/dvds.

The X3 is the best chip by far.
http://www.team-xecuter.com/ I have the X23B pro chip. It was the best 3 or so years ago. I never tried Linux but I do have all my games on a hard drive along with various othe console games. Hey! Whaddaya messin wid an x-box for? Aint you sposed to be makin a rocket or sumthin? (impulse engine).
Sorry, can't help you with the x-box thing - I'm too cheap to get one, and probably wouldn't have the time to play either.....just thought I'd post and razz you a little.  Whatever happend to a get-together??
