wierdness in the hoosier state too
near here, in a town so small that it barely appears on any maps, a farmer has shot a woman who apparently was trying to break into his barn. he called police saying someone was trying to break into it and by the time they got there she was lying dead between his barn and house. as of this morning's paper he was being questioned.... but was not yet arrested.
on the side of his barn was two signs: one said danger, bad dogs (or similar). the other said "tresspassers will be shot. survivors will be shot again". i am thinking it does not look too good for the farmer. tom w

I think his defense team will find plenty of such signs both posted and in stores. I doubt that this will be an issue.
Now, the fact that she was clearly shot while outside could turn out to be a problem for him. If he shot her in the barn, he could claim that he came in and was attacked. He still may get off on a self-defense claim, but who knows. |

no the sign is not a really big deal.
it doesn't help him any though. it wouldn't sway a judge that much but perhaps a jury would be more affected by it. (or is it effected?) tom w
